BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 A woman was arrested in connection with a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Ming Avenue, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.<\/p>\n
Martha Obregon Perez, 23, was arrested on Wednesday, police said. She was booked into Lerdo Detention Facility on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death.<\/p>\n
Watch \u2018After Sunrise\u2019 on KGET+; Click to learn how to get KGET+ on your smart TV devices <\/a><\/p>\n Kern County court records show Obregon Perez had been cited twice in the past for driving without a valid license and speeding in a 65-mph zone.<\/p>\n On Jan. 31 at around 10:44 p.m., Bakersfield police officers responded to the 4500 block of Ming Avenue<\/a> for a vehicle versus motorcycle collision, according to officials.<\/p>\n Officers found a male motorcyclist at the scene who seemed to be suffering non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n The white sedan allegedly involved in the crash fled before officers arrived, according to investigators.<\/p>\n BPD said the motorcycle, a black Kawasaki, was traveling eastbound on Ming Avenue when the white sedan made an unsafe turn and caused a collision.<\/p>\n On Sunday at around 1:30 a.m., officers made contact with a woman believed to be the white sedan driver.<\/p>\n
