Three people were killed and several others injured when a car crashed into the 99 Ranch Market in Westwood on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Los Angeles Fire Department was on the scene of the crash, which occurred at Westwood Boulevard and Rochester Avenue at 12:11 p.m. Fire officials were tending to the injured.<\/p>\n
Two people were seriously injured and two suffered minor injuries, said LAFD Capt. Erik Scott. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s unclear whether they were hit inside or outside the store, according to Lyndsey Lantz, a public information officer with the fire department.<\/p>\n
Two other people declined treatment at the scene, Scott said. <\/p>\n
Investigators are trying to determine what led to the crash, including whether the driver suffered a medical issue, Lantz said. Los Angeles Police Department officers are on scene trying to piece together the circumstances.<\/p>\n
Scott said the crash \u201cdoes not seem to be of any ill intent.\u201d Preliminary information is that the car, driven by a woman who he said is about 70 years old, struck a bicyclist before continuing into the building.<\/p>\n
Scott said he does not know the condition of the bicyclist who was struck by the vehicle.<\/p>\n
