BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Seven people were arrested after complaints of a growing encampment on District Boulevard.<\/p>\n

The Bakersfield Police Department said on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, the City of Bakersfield\u2019s Community Vitality Team received a complaint of a growing encampment in the 6000 block of District Boulevard.<\/p>\n

The Bakersfield Police Department\u2019s Impact Unit responded and found numerous encampments set up near a city-owned sump.<\/p>\n

Seven people were arrested for charges related to trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, and warrants.<\/p>\n

City of Bakersfield Code enforcement and Rapid Response Teams seized personal property for safekeeping from those arrested and cleaned the area.<\/p>\n

Police said on Wednesday, February 4th, Community Vitality returned to the 6000 block of District Boulevard and completed clean-up efforts, with the assistance of private contractors.<\/p>\n

Those arrested were identified as:<\/p>\n

39-year-old Amie Mathison45-year-old Rebecca Skipper63-year-old Mark Coolbaugh51-year-old Conrad Rivera49-year-old Adam Wickham34-year-old Marlon Solares27-year-old Peyton Schnell<\/p>\n

In a release, it said, \u201cThe Bakersfield Police Department recognizes the impact these quality-of-life issues have on our community and are committed to collaborative efforts to solve them.\u201d<\/p>\n
