The seven goals matched a season high for a Gulls team that has won three straight games; San Diego (21-14-6-3) enters the AHL break fifth in the 10-team Pacific Division standings.

Goalie Calle Clang stopped 33 of 37 shots on Wednesday on the way to his 11th win of the season. He will represent the Gulls in Wednesday’s All-Star Game in Rockford, Ill.

The win over Henderson followed 4-3 wins at Coachella Valley and at home against Ontario.

“I think when we’re dumping pucks in and playing with pace and winning our battles … a lot of the things you’ve seen the last three, four games, we’re a really, really tough team to deal with,” said Gulls forward Justin Bailey, who scored his 15th goal of the season Wednesday night and added an assist.

“We’re a really, really good hockey team, and we have depth up and down the lineup. The Gulls return to action Feb. 13 with the first of two games at Bakersfield.

“Right now, it’s just rest,” McIlvane said. “It’s like, get your minds and bodies off hockey for a bit, and then when we get back, it ramps up real quick. You get a practice, and you’re already playing back-to-back against a really strong team. It’s time to reset and recover and get ready for a real great push.”

Seals on a tear

The San Diego Seals will be hunting a fourth consecutive National Lacrosse League victory on Saturday, when they take on Saskatchewan at 7 p.m. from Pechanga Arena.

The Seals (4-3) are coming off consecutive wins over Philadelphia and could move as high as third place in the NLL standings with a win over the first-place Rush (7-1).

Sockers host Utica

The San Diego Sockers return to Major Arena Soccer League action Saturday night against Utica City FC (3-6-2) at Frontwave Arena.
