SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) \u2013 Tom Brady\u2019s collectibles brand, CardVault by Tom Brady, has opened its first California location at DOCO, just steps from Golden 1 Center, marking a major west coast expansion for the rapidly growing card and memorabilia company.<\/p>\n
\u201cCalifornia, we\u2019ve been wanting to move our way west over a period of time,\u201d Brady said during the store\u2019s grand opening. \u201cWe thought strategically about where we wanted to open, and Sacramento was the first spot.\u201d<\/p>\n

The decision, Brady said, came down to the city\u2019s passion for sports and its loyal fan base.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know how Sacramento loves its sports teams,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd even when things aren\u2019t going exactly the way fans want, they still show up. There\u2019s incredible passion here.\u201d<\/p>\n
A personal connection to Northern California<\/p>\n
Brady also noted that opening a store in Sacramento carried personal meaning. The future Hall of Famer grew up about 90 minutes away in the Bay Area and said returning to Northern California during Super Bowl week made the moment even more special.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fact that I grew up close to here made it really special for me to come out,\u201d Brady said. \u201cI\u2019m glad the Super Bowl was in Santa Clara this week so I could visit the location early and see all the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than cards, it\u2019s about memories<\/p>\n
While CardVault features graded cards, packs, and memorabilia from top brands, Brady emphasized that the hobby goes far beyond what\u2019s inside the cases.<\/p>\n
\u201cCollecting is about community,\u201d Brady said. \u201cIt\u2019s about engaging with your friends and sharing that experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brady said his own collecting journey began when he was just four or five years old.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I ever had extra dollars in my pocket, I\u2019d save up and go to the local hobby shop,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d rip through those packs, organize my cards by favorite players and teams, and read all the stats on the back. I still have all of them today.\u201d<\/p>\n

Those early memories are what Brady hopes CardVault will spark for the next generation.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be involved in the hobby as a kid and now later in life in a different way, and to bring the next generation of collectors into it, that\u2019s a dream come true for me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Building from the ground up<\/p>\n
The Sacramento store marks CardVault\u2019s 11th location, with plans to expand to 100 stores nationwide. Brady said the mindset that helped him win championships is the same one driving the business forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat makes a successful business is what makes a successful sports team,\u201d Brady said. \u201cIt\u2019s great people, communication, learning from mistakes, and trying to get a little bit better every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n
