{"id":166571,"date":"2026-02-06T10:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T10:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/166571\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T10:34:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T10:34:07","slug":"news-12-long-island-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/166571\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Long Island"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A middle school wrestling coach is accused of endangering the welfare of a child in Nassau County.<\/p>\n<p>John Anfossi, 54, allegedly threw a Long Beach Middle School wrestler to the ground and laid on top of him without consent.<\/p>\n<p>He also tried to get the wrestler on top of him, according to Nassau police.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened in December.<\/p>\n<p>The superintendent tells News 12 they&#8217;re cooperating with investigators and the person in question has been re-assigned during the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Anfossi was arraigned on Jan. 28 and a temporary order of protection was issued.<\/p>\n<p>He is due back in court on Feb. 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A middle school wrestling coach is accused of endangering the welfare of a child in Nassau County.
