{"id":1671,"date":"2025-10-13T15:18:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T15:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/1671\/"},"modified":"2025-10-13T15:18:13","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T15:18:13","slug":"s-f-jury-convicts-man-of-setting-eight-vehicles-on-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/1671\/","title":{"rendered":"S.F. jury convicts man of setting eight vehicles on fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A jury convicted a man accused of setting multiple cars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/bayarea\/article\/tesla-arson-arrest-suspect-san-francisco-18703550.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on fire<\/a> in San Francisco last year, officials for the district attorney\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p>Armando Salvador, 63, was found guilty of eight counts of arson and two counts of unlawfully causing a fire, officials said Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Salvador set six vehicles on fire on Feb. 18, 2024, on Campton Place, Geary Street and O\u2019Farrell Street. Less than a week later, Salvador set two Teslas ablaze at Mabini and Bonifacio streets and Shipley and Fourth street, with the fires spreading to two other vehicles parked nearby.<\/p>\n<p>Salvador was identified through videos collected by the Union Square Alliance nonprofit and observers, authorities said. Police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/bayarea\/article\/tesla-arson-arrest-suspect-san-francisco-18703550.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrested<\/a> Salvador on Feb. 27, and he remained in custody as of Saturday.
