<\/p>\n FRESNO, Calif. \u2014 The Western Oregon baseball team split a doubleheader with Fresno Pacific on Friday at Dan Martin Stadium, falling 6\u20131 in the opener before earning a 7\u20134 win in the nightcap.<\/p>\n Game 1 \u2014 Fresno Pacific 6, Western Oregon 1<\/p>\n Fresno Pacific took control early in the opener, scoring four runs in the first inning and holding on for the win over Western Oregon (2\u20131).<\/p>\n The Wolves were limited to one run despite nine hits. Chris Arce<\/a> scored WOU’s lone run, driven in by Robby Shepherd<\/a>. Benny Nazario<\/a> and Jayger Baldwin<\/a> each finished with two hits, but the Wolves stranded 10 runners.<\/p>\n Shane Bailey<\/a> was tagged with the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) over four innings, while Ben Edwards<\/a> and Aidan Melendrez<\/a> combined for four scoreless innings in relief.<\/p>\n Game 2 \u2014 Western Oregon 7, Fresno Pacific 4<\/p>\n Western Oregon responded in the nightcap, scoring in five different innings to secure the split against Fresno Pacific (4\u20133).<\/p>\n Benny Nazario<\/a> led the Wolves by going 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored, while Zane Garvey<\/a> and Alex Harden<\/a> each drove in two runs. Harden and Nazario both homered, and Jayger Baldwin<\/a> reached base three times.<\/p>\n Wyatt Rosales<\/a> earned the win, allowing one run on three hits over four innings with three strikeouts and two walks.
