FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 The pilots of the California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing are preparing to make a grand entrance at Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara.<\/p>\n

The pilots are also trained to protect airspace to keep civilian aircraft from entering restricted areas, such as above Levi’s Stadium.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, F-15 fighter aircraft from the 144th conducted a live-fly exercise, in coordination with the Civil Air Patrol, simulating a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) violation intercept near the Fresno Air National Guard Base.<\/p>\n

The exercise reinforced the importance of TFR compliance and the integrated efforts used to safeguard North American airspace. <\/p>\n

“Well done to our Continental U.S. NORAD Region in executing our enduring mission to protect North American skies, including through disciplined exercise,” said North American Aerospace Defense Command.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, NORAD has maintained constant vigilance over potential air threats, ensuring aerospace warning, aerospace control, and maritime warning for North America.<\/p>\n
