There have been so many different genres \u2014 from hip-hop and dance-pop to classic rock and EDM \u2014 showcased during the Super Bowl week concert lineup<\/a> in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

On Saturday \u2014 Super Bowl eve \u2014 it was country music\u2019s turn to shine as Chris Stapleton<\/a> headlined a show at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

Despite battling some type of a cold, Stapleton<\/a> sounded strong \u2014 especially on guitar \u2014 as he opened his set with the defiant \u201cBad As I Used to Be\u201d and then rolled right along with \u201cMidnight Train to Memphis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stapleton<\/a> told the crowd that \u2014 although not feeling 100 percent healthy \u2014 he still planned to play as much music as he cold in the allotted time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd your job is to have as much fun as you possibly can,\u201d Stapleton<\/a> said to the audience.<\/p>\n

The attendees \u2014 including those in the massive elevated VIP area that basically took up half the space on the auditorium floor \u2014 seemed to indeed be having fun as the country music superstar continued through \u201cArkansas,\u201d \u201cWhat Am I Gonna Do\u201d and his powerful cover of Guy Clark\u2019s \u201cWorry B Gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rising Americana\/country\/bluegrass star Sierra Ferrell opened the concert at the Bill Graham Civic on Saturday with a winning performance, which included a particularly nice rendition of Kris Kristofferson\u2019s \u201cMe and Bobby McGee.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDrink plenty of water, say your prayers and call your mom,\u201d Ferrell wisely advised the crowd at the end of her set.<\/p>\n
