Little Rock wasted no time putting away Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday in a Pac-12 dual at the Jack Stephens Center, dominating the Roadrunners from the opening bout in a 33-17 victory.<\/p>\n
The Trojans recorded two wins by pin and three by technical fall, with Stephen Little<\/a> also earning a win by forfeit.<\/p>\n “It was great to get back on a roll from the start,” head coach Neil Erisman<\/a> said. “We haven’t had many opportunities like this. It seems like every dual this season has been a dogfight. It was good to have matches today where we could score a lot of points. There was a lot of energy and excitement, and hopefully we can carry that into our last home dual and the postseason.”<\/p>\n Brock Herman<\/a> set the tone early with a pin of Hayden Zinkin in just 1:13. Jaivon Jones<\/a> followed with a 15-0 technical fall in under two minutes, and Matty Bianchi<\/a> added an 18-3 tech fall to give Little Rock a 16-0 lead through the opening three bouts.<\/p>\n “Friday was tough, so it was great to bounce back,” Herman said. “I was excited to get us started and build momentum. It was a great day for us, and now we’ll get ready to be home again next week against Cal Poly.”<\/p>\n After CSU Bakersfield got on the board, Kodiak Cannedy<\/a> responded with a pin at the 1:20 mark of the first period. Little Rock then added a forfeit win by Stephen Little<\/a> and a technical fall from Michael Gasper<\/a> to stretch the advantage to 33-3.<\/p>\n The Roadrunners claimed the final three matches of the dual but were unable to close the gap.<\/p>\n Little Rock will conclude the regular season next Sunday at home against Cal Poly. The dual is scheduled to begin at noon.
