California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared Super Bowl Sunday to be \u201cBad Bunny Day\u201d<\/a> in California in a social media post mimicking President Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs many people know, I am a tremendous lover of \u2018the Spanish\u2019,\u201d<\/a> Newsom wrote Saturday. \u201cI am also a huge fan of Puerrrrrrrto Rico. That is why I am declaring [Sunday] in California as \u2018Bad Bunny Day.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The Latin pop superstar, 31, will perform at halftime of Super Bowl LX<\/a> in Santa Clara between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. He is fresh off accepting three Grammys at last weekend\u2019s award show for his newest album, \u201cDebi Tirar Mas Fotos.\u201d<\/p>\n

While accepting one of his Grammys<\/a>, Bad Bunny began his speech by saying, \u201cBefore I say thanks to God, I\u2019m gonna say: ICE out,\u201d which earned thunderous applause. \u201cWe\u2019re not savage, we\u2019re not animals, we\u2019re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Newsom has been imitating Trump\u2019s delivery<\/a> in his social media posts for several months, which he continued in his \u201cBad Bunny Day\u201d proclamation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love Bad Bunny!\u201d Newsom wrote. \u201cHe is nearly as \u2018hot\u2019 as me, which is a big compliment, because there is nobody \u2018hotter.\u2019 Happy Bad Bunny Day, America. Enjoy!!!<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

In a followup post, Newsom also said he had \u201cbanned\u201d Kid Rock from California. Kid Rock is headlining an alternative halftime show produced by Charlie Kirk\u2019s former organization, Turning Point USA \u2014 and also made headlines this week for song lyrics from 2001 about having sex with underage girls<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Newsom joked that Kid Rock would be performing<\/a> in front of \u201c35 people, three scooters, and a confused nurse at Trump\u2019s Golden Meadows retirement facility in Florida. Hopefully no children present!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump previously called Bad Bunny a \u201cterrible choice\u201d for the halftime show<\/a>, and press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president would be among those tuning into the alternative Kid Rock performance.<\/p>\n

Other conservatives have also complained about Bad Bunny performing in Spanish<\/a>. But the performer said earlier in the week that viewers didn\u2019t need to learn Spanish to enjoy and dance.<\/p>\n
