The Los Angeles Angels<\/a> have been adding a lot of interesting players this offseason. While they’re not superstars, they’re players who’ve shown potential but haven’t lived up to it in their careers.<\/p>\n

It’s a worthwhile offseason strategy because if even one of these players hits, it would be a huge win for the team. It’s been a busy offseason for the Angels, and more moves could be coming.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s David Schoenfield<\/a> proposed a trade for the Angels to continue adding talented players this offseason. This deal would have the Houston Astros<\/a> sending .292-hitting outfielder Jake Meyers in return for Josh Lowe, someone the Angels just traded for.<\/p>\n

“Astros trade CF Jake Meyers to Los Angeles Angels for OF Josh Lowe,” Schoenfield proposed for ESPN.<\/p>\n

This trade would be an interesting one in that both sides would be swapping outfielders without any prospects attached to get a better fit for their respective teams.<\/p>\n

While the Angels have Mike Trout and Jo Adell in the outfield, they need a better center field option, and Myers could be just that.<\/p>\n

He’s a great defender, and with his .292 hitting in the 2025 season for the Astros, there’s a bit more offensive upside than some other center field options.<\/p>\n

While Lowe could play center field for the Angels, he’s not as good an option at that spot. So, Schoenfield proposes the Angels swap him for Meyers in a 1-for-1 trade with the Astros.<\/p>\n

The Angels would get a better center field option, one who has two more years of club control, while the Astros would get a left-handed-hitting batter who is under club control for three years.<\/p>\n

While Meyers might be the better player right now, Lowe’s extra year of control, his potential, and the better handedness at the plate make this a realistic trade for both sides.<\/p>\n
