Bakersfield<\/a> waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins… but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 45-29 win over the Independence Falcons<\/a>. The final result isn’t all that surprising considering the Drillers’ considerable advantage in MaxPreps’ California basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Falcons are ranked 680th).<\/p>\n Bakersfield’s win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cynthia Portis<\/a>, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalya Robinson<\/a>, who posted six points along with eight boards and three steals.<\/p>\n Bakersfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only posted six.<\/p>\n Despite the loss, Independence still got an impressive performance from Ka’Rayah Robertson<\/a>, who had ten points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks.<\/p>\n Bakersfield’s record is now 13-9. As for Independence, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-16.<\/p>\n As of now, neither Bakersfield nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.<\/p>\n
