A black-coated female <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/tag\/science\/wild-nature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">gray wolf <\/a>has officially crossed into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/tag\/us\/ca\/los-angeles-county\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Los Angeles County<\/a>, the first time the species has been documented this far south in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/tag\/us\/ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">California <\/a>since 1924.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KTTV\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-2899190a=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-2899190a=\"\">The wolf, scientifically designated as BEY03F, was detected around 6 a.m. Saturday in the mountainous terrain north of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/tag\/us\/ca\/los-angeles-county\/santa-clarita\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Santa Clarita.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-2899190a=\"\">She is a 3-year-old female who was originally tagged with a GPS collar in May while she was a member of the Yowlumni Pack in Tulare County.<\/p>\n<p data-v-2899190a=\"\">Wildlife experts note that her departure from her original pack about a week ago is a natural behavior;
