City officials closed key streets <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfmta.com\/reports\/street-closure-and-event-list\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">near<\/a> City Hall and Grace Cathedral, but the published notices online weren\u2019t much help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is hands-down the worst traffic I\u2019ve seen here,\u201d said Jasmine Amine, an online livestreamer in town for the game. \u201cA lot of roads are closed.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brake lights and car horns were common sights and sounds outside of the Moscone Center, San Francisco\u2019s largest convention arena and the home of Radio Row, which served as headquarters for a majority of the Super Bowl\u2019s media broadcasts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen travelers don\u2019t have enough advance notice about which roadways to take, they get confused,\u201d said visitor Jonah Wittkamper, co-founder and president of Amazon\u2019s Investor Coalition. \u201cI have seen some cars come up to security. They made them do a U-turn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While many of the Super Bowl\u2019s events were in San Francisco, the game and some other events were in Santa Clara. The Bay Area Host Committee said it wanted to activate much of the region rather than focusing on one location.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey could have developed a better system, because we were driving in our Uber yesterday, there were literally four lanes trying to merge,\u201d Amine said Friday. \u201cIt was just kind of chaotic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One visitor said he believes communication should have been better to avoid issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSignage is one of the issues, and (broadcasting) on the airwaves to prepare travelers about disruptions they might not have expected,\u201d Wittkamper said.<\/p>\n<p>Walking became a popular option among people navigating the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was going to rent a car and drive up from the airport, but they were out of cars,\u201d Wittkamper said. \u201cUber was not able to get all the way up to the gate, so I had to get out and walk a few blocks.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Officials told guests and residents to expect delays, restrictions and closures until Tuesday and are encouraging citizens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sf.gov\/news-mayor-lurie-outlines-preparations-to-keep-san-franciscans-and-visitors-safe-during-super-bowl-lx-week\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to<\/a> use public transportation.
