Also on the bill is Brooklyn-based Jeremy Malvin, who is at the helm for the electronic music project known as Chrome Sparks.<\/p>\n<p>Details: 9:30 p.m. Feb. 21, Public Works<\/p>\n<p>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2026\/01\/06\/mosswood-meltdown-tickets-lineup-preparty-oakland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Stephen Malkmus<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Stockton product has a big show with his band Pavement on the books for later in the year (July 17 during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2026\/01\/06\/mosswood-meltdown-tickets-lineup-preparty-oakland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mosswood Meltdown festival<\/a> pre-party concert in Oakland). First up, however, he\u2019ll perform a solo Noise Pop gig in a much more intimate setting.<\/p>\n<p>Details: 8 p.m. Feb. 23, Great American Music Hall<\/p>\n<p>3. The Fiery Furnaces<\/p>\n<p>The indie-rock duo, consisting of siblings Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger, are revisiting the acclaimed 2004 album \u201cBlueberry Boat\u201d for this gig. The opening act is Spacemoth\u2019s Maryam Qudus, an Oakland-based artist who will be performing solo for this date.<\/p>\n<p>Details: 8 p.m. Feb. 26, The Chapel<\/p>\n<p>4. Sun Ra Arkestra<\/p>\n<p>Keyboardist-composer Sun Ra founded this pioneering avant-garde jazz ensemble in Chicago way back in the 1950s \u2014 and it\u2019s still going strong some 70 years later. Indeed, the group \u2014 which was led by Sun Ra until his death in 1993 \u2014 was just nominated for a 2026 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.<\/p>\n<p>Details: 8:30 p.m. Feb. 28, 7 p.m. March 1, The Chapel<\/p>\n<p>5. Rogue Wave<\/p>\n<p>The Oakland pop-rock act, led by Zach Schwartz (a.k.a. Zach Rogue), is playing two shows in one night.
