SAN FRANCISCO \u2014 Forty-niners edge rusher Keion White was wounded in a San Francisco shooting following Super Bowl 60.<\/p>\n

According to a police statement obtained by The Associated Press,<\/a> San Francisco officers responded to the shooting shortly after 4 a.m. and White was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 49ers said White was shot in the ankle.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeion White was a victim of a shooting and sustained a bullet wound to his ankle this morning in San Francisco,\u201d the 49ers said in a statement.<\/a> \u201cHe is currently undergoing surgery at a local hospital. We will provide further updates when appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n

San Francisco police also offered more context on the shooting. <\/p>\n

\u201cA preliminary investigation revealed a verbal altercation occurred between two groups inside a business,\u201d police said, via the AP. \u201cThe victim was injured when shots were fired by an unknown suspect. All information is preliminary at this time, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.\u201d<\/p>\n

A second-round pick of the Patriots in 2023, White was traded to the 49ers just before this year\u2019s trade deadline. <\/p>\n
