OAKLAND \u2014 Two men riding in a car in East Oakland early Tuesday were wounded in a drive-by shooting, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Both men, one 21 and the other 33, were in stable condition at a hospital.<\/p>\n
The shooting happened about 1:55 a.m. Tuesday in the 5800 block of Avenal Avenue.<\/p>\n
According to initial police reports, the two men, and another passenger, were driving in a car when a van pulled alongside them and someone inside began shooting at them before continuing on.<\/p>\n
The 21 year-old man was hit in the back and the other man in the arm. The third man was not injured.\u00a0 It was not clear which one was driving.<\/p>\n
They drove to another location and called the police.<\/p>\n
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. Detailed descriptions of the shooter and the van have not been released.<\/p>\n
