There has been no evidence Guthrie is taking the medication she needs or proof from kidnappers that she’s still alive.

There has been no indication any ransom was paid and the FBI also said it is not aware of any communication between the abductors and the Guthrie family.

FBI releases surveillance video in Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case

Nancy’s daughter, “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie shared the footage in two posts on Instagram on Tuesday with a plea for the public’s help. Savannah Guthrie says in one post that the family believes their mother “is still alive.”

“Someone out there recognizes this person,” she wrote. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”

The images of a masked individual appears to have been recovered off a Nest camera located at the front door of Guthrie’s home. Law enforcement has been working for days to recover any images or video footage that may have been “lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors — including the removal of recording devices,” said FBI Director Kash Patel.

Patel said in a post on X that the video was recovered from “residual data located in backend systems.”

New images in the search for Nancy Guthrie:

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost,… pic.twitter.com/z5WLgPtZpT

— FBI Director Kash Patel (@FBIDirectorKash) February 10, 2026

The images, recorded at 1:47 a.m. on Feb. 1, show an individual, wearing a dark balaclava, gloves and a backpack, appearing to tamper with the camera at Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance. What appears to be a gun is holstered around the person’s waist, positioned at the front of their body and easily visible.

Video footage shows the person approaching the front door, noticing the camera and trying to cover the lens with their gloved hand. The person then looks around the patio and yard area apparently for something to obstruct the camera. At one point, the individual attempts to block the camera using greenery found in the yard.

The camera was missing when investigators arrived at the home later that day.

A law enforcement source told The Times on Tuesday that officials spent a considerable amount of time working to retrieve data from the Nest camera. The source spoke to The Times on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case.

The surveillance footage marks the first major development released to the public in the case that has baffled law enforcement experts for more than a week.

Pleas from the family for Guthrie’s return have become increasingly urgent as time has passed.

“We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help,” Savannah Guthrie said in a video on Instagram on Monday. “So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers but no matter where you are — even if you’re far from Tucson — if you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement. We are in an hour of desperation.”

On Saturday, Savannah Guthrie addressed the kidnappers directly in a cryptic video saying that her family would pay for Nancy’s return.

“We received your message, and we understand,” Guthrie said in the video, sitting beside her brother and sister. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

Investigators have released surveillance photos and a video showing a potential suspect in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping investigation…

[27
81395,82479,9342,217,1431,1055,79119,82482,48,52,51,47,50,49,1024,82478,82481,2699,82477,82480,5050
post-172287","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-los-angeles","tag-abductor","tag-anchor-savannah-guthrie","tag-daughter","tag-day","tag-family","tag-fbi","tag-guthrie","tag-kidnapper","tag-la","tag-la-headlines","tag-la-news","tag-los-angeles","tag-los-angeles-headlines","tag-los-angeles-news","tag-monday","tag-nancy-guthrie-kidnapping-case","tag-ransom-deadline","tag-return","tag-surveillance-photo","tag-unusual-case","tag-video
["GET
