The Spartans tied the game at 49-49 early in the second half, but UNLV used a 13-6 run midway through the period to build its largest lead of 13 points with 8:56 remaining. San Jos\u00e9 State closed the gap to three points in the final three minutes, but could not complete the comeback.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/player\/melvin-bell-jr\" title=\"Melvin Bell Jr.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Melvin Bell Jr.<\/a> recorded nine points and four rebounds. <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/player\/sadraque-nganga\" title=\"Sadraque NgaNga\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sadraque NgaNga<\/a> tallied nine points and eight rebounds off the bench. The Spartans played only seven guys as multiple players were sidelined with injuries. Both Garland and Goodarzi played all 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Garland has scored 20 or more points in three consecutive games<br \/>\nGarland has now scored 20 points or more 11 times this season and 14 times in his career<br \/>\nGarland tallied 25 shots, the most in a game for the Spartans since <a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/player\/omari-moore\" title=\"Omari Moore\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Omari Moore<\/a> had 26 shots against Boise State on Feb. 25, 2023<br \/>\nGoodarzi scored in double figures for his second consecutive game<br \/>\nGoodarzi has hit multiple threes in four straight games<br \/>\nThis was Goodarzi\u2019s first career 20 plus point game<br \/>\nGoodarzi went 8-for-8 from the foul line, also setting a career-high in made free throws<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/player\/japhet-moupadele\" title=\"Japhet Moupadele\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Japhet Moupadele<\/a> knocked down a career-high three threes<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/sjsuspartans.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/player\/adrian-myers\" title=\"Adrian Myers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adrian Myers<\/a>\u2019 eight assists set a new career-high<br \/>\nMyers also recorded six rebounds, two blocks and two steals<br \/>\nThe Spartans have had seven or fewer turnovers in three consecutive games<\/p>\n<p>UP NEXT: The Spartans will host Grand Canyon on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. from the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
