San Diego FC\u2019s inaugural \u201ccommunity kit\u201d was almost entirely white<\/a>, a blank canvas to be worn as the franchise navigated its inaugural season in Major League Soccer.<\/p>\n

The uniforms SDFC will wear in Year 2 are \u2026 not that.<\/p>\n

SDFC unveiled its \u201cUnprecedented Unity\u201d kit on Tuesday. The look incorporates Jackson Pollock-esque splashes of orange and royal blue, a departure from last season\u2019s navy-and-white color palette. The club will wear royal blue shorts with the new jersey, another first. The SDFC badge is also royal blue and white.<\/p>\n

Orange isn\u2019t an entirely new color for SDFC, which sports what it calls azul and chrome in its team crest<\/a> and throughout its primary uniform. The team\u2019s primary (navy) jersey has a gradient orange stripe on the back<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As for \u201cUnprecedented Unity\u201d? SDFC says the name is a nod to \u201chow SDFC transcends boundaries and unites, especially in a region so closely connected to Tijuana.\u201d A logo just above players\u2019 last name reads \u201cSin Fronteras,\u201d meaning \u201cwithout borders.\u201d The jocktag at the bottom of the jersey features the initials \u201cSDTJ,\u201d highlighting the two cities; the lettering was designed by binational artist Alexis Samano. Jerseys are available for purchase online<\/a> or at SDFC\u2019s Mission Valley team store.<\/p>\n

SDFC senior vice president of brand Sebastian Morua said the theme is inspired in part by \u201cwhat will be a special year for the sport in our region\u201d: this summer\u2019s World Cup held throughout North America.<\/p>\n

\u201cFootball is the global game. It needs no translation and transcends all borders,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a game for everyone, everywhere \u2014 and no city lives that more fully than San Diego.\u201d<\/p>\n

SDFC is in Mexico City for Tuesday\u2019s second leg of the first round of the Concacaf Champions Cup<\/a>. SDFC beat Liga MX\u2019s Pumas UNAM 4-1 in last week\u2019s opener at Snapdragon Stadium.<\/p>\n

SDFC opens its 2026 season Feb. 21 at home against C.F.
