On Tuesday, the Yolo County Sheriff\u2019s Office was alerted to several beehive boxes that had recently appeared in a remote area of northeastern Yolo County. Agricultural crime investigators located the live hives.<\/p>\n
Investigators found that the hives had been altered in an effort to conceal identifying markings. While monitoring the area, investigators saw a suspect return to the site and continue modifying the hives.<\/p>\n
A 47-year-old Sacramento resident, Leonid Terzi, was arrested on multiple felony charges related to the theft.<\/p>\n
Investigators reported that the stolen hives, which are \u201cvalued in the high tens of thousands of dollars,\u201d were recovered and returned to the owner.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information regarding this theft or the discovery of related apiary equipment in Yolo County is encouraged to contact law enforcement.<\/p>\n
