BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 A recording of the threat to Cal State Bakersfield last Monday captures exactly what a caller said on the phone to prompt a lockdown.<\/p>\n
CSUB went into lockdown<\/a> in the afternoon of Feb. 2 after an anonymous caller threatened a shooting at the campus.<\/p>\n The university shared the audio recording with 17 News.<\/p>\n \u201cIn 20 minutes, I\u2019m gonna come into the university with my AR-15 and I\u2019m gonna shoot everyone I see and then blow myself up,\u201d the caller said.<\/p>\n \u201cUh\u2026 Can I ask why?\u201d the CSUB employee asked.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t need to know that, just know I\u2019ll be there in 20 minutes,\u201d the caller replied. \u201cI\u2019m currently on Ming Avenue.\u201d<\/p>\n The school sent alerts just after 3 p.m. asking people to shelter in place and barricade doors, but some students reported not getting an alert<\/a> or getting it at different times.<\/p>\n CSUB Chief of Police Mari Gonzalez said it was due to issues in the system identified by the third-party vendor.
