Adelanto<\/a> officials have announced that the city has officially been awarded the “Prohousing Designation” from the California Department of Housing and Community Development.<\/a><\/p>\n

The award marks a major milestone in the city\u2019s efforts to address the state\u2019s housing crisis and to expand opportunities for residents, city officials stated.<\/p>\n

City of Adelanto officials have announced that its municipality has officially been awarded the “Prohousing Designation” from the California Department of Housing and Community Development.<\/p>\n

The Prohousing Designation is given to municipalities that demonstrate a clear commitment to accelerating housing production, streamlining approval processes and removing barriers to development.<\/p>\n

Receiving a Prohousing Designation also allows jurisdictions to apply to the Prohousing Incentive Program, which is designed to reward local governments with additional funding to accelerate affordable housing production and preservation, state officials said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this achievement, Adelanto joins a select group of municipalities across California recognized for their leadership in creating equitable, sustainable, and affordable housing opportunities,\u201d city officials stated.<\/p>\n

Adelanto Mayor Gabriel Reyes said the city receiving the designation is a tremendous accomplishment.<\/p>\n

City Manager Jessie Flores also expressed his appreciation to the team that made this possible.<\/p>\n
