BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A man who was critically injured in a crash on White Lane on Sunday has died, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, according to officials.<\/p>\n

Bakersfield police officers were dispatched at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, to the 7000 block of White Lane for a traffic collision. Officers found one of the drivers, an adult man, suffering from major injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The second driver stayed on scene and was transported for injuries, said Discovery Church officials to Eyewitness News.<\/p>\n

The first driver died on Feb. 11 after the Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office notified the Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Division.<\/p>\n

The investigation found the injured driver had been traveling westbound and made an unprotected left turn in front of eastbound traffic when the collision happened. <\/p>\n

Discovery Church made a social media post on Thursday morning<\/a> offering condolences, saying that one of their church members had died.<\/p>\n

Police described the 7000 block of White Lane as an east-west roadway with three lanes of traffic in each direction, separated by a raised concrete center divider. There is a left-turn storage lane for westbound traffic.<\/p>\n
