The project was previously reported on by SF YIMBY in 2024, when initial approvals came through for the site. The new permits reflect a small increase in scale for the site, raising the total number of units by 6. The development is still sponsored by <a href=\"https:\/\/sfyimby.com\/category\/v23-investments-llc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">V23 Investments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The project plans to use modular apartments for the efficient construction of the site. Unit designs will be divided amongst 40 studio units, 20 single bedroom units, 19 two bedroom units, 8 three bedroom units, and a single manager unit of unspecified size. However, renderings by<a href=\"https:\/\/sfyimby.com\/category\/banta-design\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> BantaDESIGN<\/a> show strategic fa\u00e7ade articulation in the form of balconies, insets, and fa\u00e7ade colors that help soften the external appearance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-45029\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/8301-MacArthur-Boulevard-Elevation-image-by-BantaDESIGN-1024x344.png\" alt=\"8301 MacArthur Boulevard Elevation, image by BantaDESIGN\" width=\"1024\" height=\"344\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">8301 MacArthur Boulevard Elevation, image by BantaDESIGN<\/p>\n<p>The building is located on the border of the Eastmont and Castlemont neighborhoods in <a href=\"https:\/\/sfyimby.com\/neighborhoods\/east-oakland\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">East Oakland<\/a>. The surrounding area is largely residential, but future residents will be within walking distance of several local bus and transit lines.
