USU is ranked 29th in the nation in this week&#8217;s Road to Nationals Poll and SJSU is ranked 32nd.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State&#8217;s rotation will be bars, vault, floor, beam. San Jos\u00e9 State will start on vault, followed by bars, beam, and floor. We look forward to having another great competition this weekend and finding joy in the process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>UTAH STATE NOTES<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nUtah State&#8217;s 11-3 start to the 2026 campaign is its best since the 1999 squad started with a 12-2 record. Overall, USU&#8217;s 11-3 record is tied for the third-best start to a season in program history.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West and 29th in the nation heading into the sixth week of competition with an average team score of 195.567. USU ranks first in the MW and 22nd in the nation on floor (49.100), first in the MW and 28th in the nation on bars (48.921), second in the MW and 32nd in the nation on vault (48.817), and second in the MW and 34th in the nation on beam (48.729).<\/p>\n<p>Individually, sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/olivia-orengo\/10749\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10749\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Orengo<\/a> ranks third in the MW and 63rd in the nation in the all-around (38.925), and fourth in the MW on bars (9.804). Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/isabella-vater\/10745\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10745\" target=\"_blank\">Isabella Vater<\/a> ranks second in the MW and 80th in the nation on floor (9.854). Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/mya-witte\/10746\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10746\" target=\"_blank\">Mya Witte<\/a> ranks second in the MW on beam (9.800). Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/nyla-morabito\/10740\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10740\" target=\"_blank\">Nyla Morabito<\/a> ranks fifth in the MW on vault (9.788).<\/p>\n<p>FROM THE RECORD BOOKS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nJunior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/nyla-morabito\/10740\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10740\" target=\"_blank\">Nyla Morabito<\/a> has won eight vault titles in her career, which is the seventh-most in program history. Morabito has already won five vault titles this year, which is tied with three other gymnasts for the seventh-most in a single season in program history.<\/p>\n<p>TWO AGGIES HONORED BY THE MOUNTAIN WEST<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nUtah State had two gymnasts earn weekly Mountain West honors following performances last weekend as junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/isabella-vater\/10745\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10745\" target=\"_blank\">Isabella Vater<\/a> was named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/mara-gruber\/11288\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11288\" target=\"_blank\">Mara Gruber<\/a> was named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week and MW Freshman of the Week.<\/p>\n<p>Vater tied for first on floor with a career-high 9.900 at the Air Force Tri-meet to earn her third MW Floor Specialist of the Week honor this year and the fourth of her career. It is the fifth time this year and seventh time in her career she has scored 9.875 or higher on floor.<\/p>\n<p>Gruber won her first-career title as she placed first on floor with a career-high 9.900 at the USU Quad Meet. Gruber was also named the MW Freshman of the Week and is the fifth Aggie in program history to garner MW Freshman of the Week accolades.<\/p>\n<p>THREE AGGIES CLAIM TITLES IN QUAD MEET<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nUtah State had three gymnasts claim titles in its Quad Meet against Alaska, Sacramento State and Southern Utah on Monday, Feb.9, as junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/nyla-morabito\/10740\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10740\" target=\"_blank\">Nyla Morabito<\/a> won vault with a career-high-tying 9.850, junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/sydney-jelen\/10738\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10738\" target=\"_blank\">Sydney Jelen<\/a> tied for first on beam with a career-high-tying 9.875, and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/mara-gruber\/11288\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11288\" target=\"_blank\">Mara Gruber<\/a> won floor with a career-high 9.900. For Morabito, it is her 15th career title, including her eighth on vault. Jelen won her fourth career title, including third on beam. Gruber won her first career title.<\/p>\n<p>SCOUTING THE COMPETITION<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nSan Jos\u00e9 State ranks second in the Mountain West and 32nd in the nation heading into the sixth weekend of competition with an average team score of 195.260. SJSU ranks first in the MW and 19th in the nation on vault (49.030), first in the MW and 29th in the nation on beam (48.820), third in the MW and 39th in the nation on floor (48.780), and fourth in the MW and 45th in the nation on bars (48.630).<\/p>\n<p>Individually, freshman Sophie Patterson ranks fourth in the MW and 72nd in the nation in the all-around (38.884), and first in the MW and 55th in the nation on vault (9.835). Sophomore Kaviana Jurries ranks second in the MW and 75th in the nation on bars (9.825). Freshman Genesis PeBenito ranks second in the MW on beam (9.800). Sophomore Ava Johnson ranks fourth in the MW on floor (9.825).<\/p>\n<p>SERIES HISTORY<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nUtah State is 21-18 all-time against San Jos\u00e9 State, including a 3-7 road record. USU posted a 195.050-194.675 home win against the Spartans on Jan. 23, 2026, and has won nine of the last 13 meetings between the two programs.<\/p>\n<p>LAST TIME OUT<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nUtah State scored 195.875, its second-highest score of the season, to win its own quad meet on Monday night. Southern Utah finished second with 195.525, followed by Sacramento State (191.075) and Alaska (188.250).<\/p>\n<p>Utah State won three of the four event titles as it notched four career-high and two more season-high scores. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/mara-gruber\/11288\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11288\" target=\"_blank\">Mara Gruber<\/a> won the floor title with a career-high 9.900. Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/sydney-jelen\/10738\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10738\" target=\"_blank\">Sydney Jelen<\/a> shared the beam title with a career-high-tying 9.875. Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/nyla-morabito\/10740\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10740\" target=\"_blank\">Nyla Morabito<\/a> won the vault title with a career-high-tying 9.850.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State began the meet on the vault and scored 48.725, followed by a season-high 49.150 on bars, a 48.825 on beam and 49.175 on floor. Southern Utah started on bars and scored 49.150, followed by 48.625 on beam, 49.050 on floor and 48.700 on vault. Sacramento State started on beam and scored 47.100, followed by 48.475 on floor, 48.075 on vault and 47.425 on bars. Alaska started on floor and scored 47.250, followed by 46.150 on vault, 47.300 on bars and 47.550 on beam.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State began the meet on vault and scored 48.725. Morabito led USU with a career-high-tying 9.850 in the anchor spot to win the event. Junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/mya-witte\/10746\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10746\" target=\"_blank\">Mya Witte<\/a> began the rotation with 9.725, followed by 9.675 from sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/lundyn-vandertoolen\/10753\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10753\" target=\"_blank\">Lundyn VanderToolen<\/a>. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/anabelle-dewey\/11287\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11287\" target=\"_blank\">Anabelle Dewey<\/a> scored 9.675, fellow freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/alianna-valdez\/11291\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11291\" target=\"_blank\">Alianna Valdez<\/a> scored 9.750 and senior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/chelsea-southam\/10743\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10743\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea Southam<\/a> scored 9.725.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State competed on bars next and scored a season-high 49.150. Jelen began the rotation by tying her career-high with 9.850. Senior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/avery-bibbey\/10732\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10732\" target=\"_blank\">Avery Bibbey<\/a> followed with 9.800 to tie her season-high and sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/olivia-orengo\/10749\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10749\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Orengo<\/a> scored 9.850 to tie her season-high. VanderToolen followed with a 9.850 of her own. Freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/charley-laufer\/11290\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11290\" target=\"_blank\">Charley Laufer<\/a> scored 9.200 and junior <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/isabella-vater\/10745\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10745\" target=\"_blank\">Isabella Vater<\/a> concluded the rotation with 9.800. Jelen, Orengo and VanderToolen all tied for second on the event.<\/p>\n<p>Moving to beam for its third rotation, Utah State scored 48.825. Jelen tied for first on the event as she tied her career-high with 9.875. Valdez followed with 9.750, Orengo scored 9.775, sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/kaylie-medrano\/10748\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10748\" target=\"_blank\">Kaylie Medrano<\/a> scored 9.725, Morabito scored 9.125 and Witte posted 9.700 in the anchor spot.<\/p>\n<p>Utah State concluded the meet on floor and scored 49.175 on the event, which is tied for its third-highest floor score of the season. Gruber stole the show for the Aggies as she posted a career-high 9.900 in the anchor spot to win the event. Orengo began the rotation with 9.825, followed by 9.750 from freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/utahstateaggies.com\/sports\/womens-gymnastics\/roster\/sienna-yelle\/11292\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11292\" target=\"_blank\">Sienna Yelle<\/a>.
