Piedmont\u2019s new community pool will open on Saturday, April 11. The City will offer a discounted\u00a0drop-in rate through April 30, providing all community members a lower-cost chance to see the\u00a0facility and try out the pools before Summer passes go on sale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The April 11 opening marks the start of a ramp-up period. Hours and programming will expand\u00a0steadily in the weeks that follow as programs come online.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Key dates to know\u00a0<\/p>\n

The following schedule includes key dates for registration account setup, pass sales, swim lesson\u00a0 registration, and party room reservations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Preparing for opening day\u00a0<\/p>\n

City staff are moving into the facility this week and have held multiple on-site trainings for lifeguards, swim instructors, and other front-line staff since a temporary certificate of occupancy\u00a0was issued on Friday, February 6.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Between now and opening day, staff will be working on-site full time to prepare for day-to-day\u00a0operations, continue learning the facility\u2019s systems, and complete operational, safety, and\u00a0 emergency response training for front-line staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now hiring: lifeguards and swim instructors needed\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Recreation Department is continuing to recruit staff for the new pool. Lifeguards and swim\u00a0instructors are the positions most in need. Both roles offer flexible schedules, with opportunities\u00a0ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lifeguard positions start at $19.50\/hour and require certification. Strong swimmers not yet certified as lifeguards are encouraged to apply for swim instructor positions, which start at $18\/hour and\u00a0make a good stepping stone to lifeguard roles in the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n
