LONG BEACH, Calif. — Long Beach State hosts UC Davis on Saturday at 2 p.m. as the Beach look to build consistency down the stretch of the Big West season. Entering the contest at 3-20 overall and 2-11 in conference play, Long Beach State will lean on JaQuoia Jones-Brown’s<\/a> team-leading 16.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while emphasizing defensive discipline and ball security on its home floor.<\/p>\n

RIGHT AWAY

\n\u2022Sophomore JaQuoia Jones-Brown<\/a> continues her role as the general Long Beach State, anchoring both ends of the floor. She is averaging 16.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 37.1 minutes per game while shooting 41.4 percent from the field and 81.0 percent from the free throw line. She also adds 2.2 assists per game and has scored 29 points twice this season.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Senior Guard Khylee Pepe<\/a> provides backcourt production and defensive activity. She is averaging 8.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, with a team-high 37 steals. Pepe is coming off an 18-point performance at Fullerton, including eight made free throws.<\/p>\n

\u2022 2025-26 Kay Yow Servant Leader award recipient Kennan Ka<\/a> continues to facilitate the offense, averaging a team-best 2.5 assists per game while adding 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Her assist-to-turnover ratio sits at 1.0, the highest among regular rotation players.<\/p>\n

\u2022 True freshman Rosie Akot<\/a> adds 6.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and has started eight contests this season. Freshman Brynna Pukis<\/a> provides perimeter spacing, shooting 34.1 percent from three-point range with 30 made threes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 As a team, the Beach are averaging 53.9 points per game on 35.2 percent shooting from the field and 28.4 percent from three. They are collecting 35.5 rebounds per game. Defensive containment and possession control will be central against a UC Davis group that looks to capitalize on turnovers and second-chance opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Tempo and efficiency will shape Saturday’s contest. Long Beach State has been most competitive when it limits mistakes and sustains half-court execution, as demonstrated in conference wins over CSUN and UC Riverside.
