ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.\/SEATTLE \u2014 Nathan Rider<\/a> set the Sacramento State record in the men’s 200 and was part of five school top 10 marks set over a pair of meets on Friday as the Hornets competed at the Husky Classic in Seattle and the Don Kirby Elite in Albuquerque.

\nRider finished third overall in the open division of the men’s 200 at the Don Kirby Elite with a time of 21.02. That mark blew away the previous Sacramento State record of 21.40 which was shared by Raphael McFarlane and Jody Johnson who each did it in 2008. The record was the longest-standing of the running events in program history. Even with the altitude adjustment, Rider’s time will be the best in the Big Sky this season, surpassing Idaho’s Keenan Kuntz who owned the top spot at 21.21.

\nTim Edwards, Jr.<\/a>, also moved into the top 10 in the men’s 200 as his time of 21.73 ranks seventh in the Hornet record book. Edwards returned to lead the team in the 400 in 47.71 finish in 10th place. That time was just a tenth of a second off his PR.

\nIfe Orekoya<\/a> placed 12th in the race and moved into sixth in school history in 47.93.
\n\u00a0
\nFreshman S’ niyah Cade clocked a time of 24.12 in the women’s 200 to jump into fourth place in school history. Cade’s time took .22 seconds off her previous collegiate best.

\nSacramento State had just one competitor at the Husky Classic as Anna Harmon<\/a> ran in the women’s 3K. The senior finished the event in 9:50.53 for the fourth-fastest all-time by a Hornet.
