Across a doubleheader with the Fresno State Bulldogs<\/a> on Friday evening, the Washington Huskies<\/a> didn’t allow a single run, as coach Heather Tarr’s team came out on top 9-0 in five innings in the second game.<\/p>\n Behind a dominant pitching performance from Morgan Reimer, who let up just a hit and a walk with 4 strikeouts in 3 innings as she improved to 2-1 on the season, and 2 scoreless innings from highly-touted two-way freshman Amira Rodriguez, who allowed 2 hits while recording 2 strikeouts in the victory, and recorded her first career hit at the plate.<\/p>\n After a few big swings from Alexis DeBoer were all the Huskies<\/a> needed to come out on top<\/a> in the first game, Washington did a great job manufacturing runs across the second and third innings to invoke the eight-run rule.<\/p>\n Out of the leadoff spot, left fielder Ava Carroll continued to show why she was a strong acquisition from Mt. Hood Junior College ahead of the 2025 season. She went 2-for-3 with a double and 4 runs batted in, while second baseman Jade Bubke chipped in a double and a run scored, as the Huskies took advantage of some control issues in the circle.<\/p>\n Freshman outfielder Kaycie Burdick drew 3 walks in the contest and scored a pair of runs, while her classmate, shortstop Marley Teasley, went 1-for-2 with an RBI single and a run scored. Teasley also struck out on a dropped third strike, which pushed Ally Hetzel across the plate, before another wild pitch scored Burdick shortly after.<\/p>\n
