SAN\u00a0JOSE, Calif.\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Grand Canyon set season highs for scoring and field goal percentage to turn a 10-point deficit into a blowout road win, handing head coach Bryce Drew<\/a> his 300th career win by beating San\u00a0Jos\u00e9 State 94-79 with a 55-point second half Saturday at Provident Credit Union Event Center.<\/p>\n

The Lopes (16-9, 9-5\u00a0Mountain West) put five players in double-figure scoring to shoot 62.1% from the field, including making 30 of 38 shots from inside the 3-point arc. The victory could put GCU in a fourth-place tie with Nevada if the Wolf Pack lose Staurday night at San Diego State. \n<\/p>\n

\n\"Henley,GCU senior guard Jaden Henley<\/a> set a career high with eight assists while scoring a team-high 24 points, his seventh 20-point game of the season. Henley made four of the Lopes’ 10 first-half turnovers before going the second half without a turnover\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-7 native of Ontario, California, made 9 of 13 shots from the field, 2 of 5 from 3-point range and 4 of 4 from the free throw line. He also added five rebounds and a steal while scoring in double digits each half. \n<\/p>\n

Key moment
\nThe Lopes had allowed a 12-2 start to turn into a 36-26 deficit before closing the half with 13 unanswered points over 3 1\/2 minutes.<\/p>\n

The 13-0 run included eight points from junior guard Dusty Stromer<\/a>, who made a pair of 3-pointers and a pair of free throws to put GCU ahead 39-36 at halftime. With the start of the second half, the run ended up being 17 unanswered points. The Lopes built the lead to 13 points after the first 4:09 of the second half.\u00a0 \n<\/p>\n

Key statistic
\nGCU dominated the boards, outrebounding San Jos\u00e9 State 36-17 — its largest rebounding advantage since Dec. 13 against Coastal Carolina (plus-22). The Lopes grabbed 13 offensive rebounds for a 21-9 edge in second-chance points.<\/p>\n

Lopes junior guard Makaih Williams<\/a> grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, which set his GCU career high.\u00a0 \n<\/p>\n
