FRESNO, Calif. — The No. 24 Husky softball team opened this weekend’s five-game slate with two shutout victories over Fresno State on Friday at Margie Wright Diamond.<\/p>\n
In the opening game, the Huskies defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 before exploding for a 9-0 victory in five innings in game two of the day.<\/p>\n
Game 1 \u2013 No. 24 Washington vs. Fresno State A pitcher’s duel between Sophia Ramuno<\/a>, who struck out eight Bulldog batters, and Fresno State’s pitching staff saw no more scoring for the next five straight innings.<\/p>\n The next and final Husky run came in the seventh, as DeBoer singled up the middle to drive in Marley Teasley<\/a> and secure the 2-0 win.

All of UW’s scoring came in the second and third innings, as four runs scored in the second frame and five poured in in the third.<\/p>\n The freshman trio of Ally Hetzel<\/a>, Kaycie Burdick<\/a> and Mila Reddy<\/a> scored two runs apiece. Ava Carroll<\/a> had two hits on the evening herself, along with four RBI.
