Town hall meeting<\/p>\n
Congressman Ro Khanna will host a town hall on Saturday, Feb. 21, 3:30-5 p.m. in Rose Elementary School\u2019s multi-purpose room. Khanna will discuss his latest work in Congress and answer questions from constituents.<\/p>\n
The school is located at 250 Rosewell Drive in Milpitas. The town hall is open to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. RSVP to https:\/\/bit.ly\/46A7mCp.<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0\u2018Rhetoric and power\u2019<\/p>\n The\u00a0San Francisco Shakespeare Festival\u00a0is stopping at the Milpitas Library on March 28 with its touring production of \u201cJulius Caesar.\u201d The production is part of Santa Clara County Library District\u2019s\u00a0Silicon Valley Reads programming.<\/p>\n The Shakespeare on Tour program will bring a its one-hour performance of Shakespeare\u2019s political drama to approximately 100 schools and libraries between February and May, \u201cgiving students an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between rhetoric and power,\u201d reads the SF Shakes website.<\/p>\n \u201cThis production will explore how the force of fierce devotion to a leader can skew governance, how the dissemination of false narratives through biased reporting can change the course of history and how blind commitment to well-meant ideals can lead to tragic choices.\u201d<\/p>\n The Milpitas performance begins at 2 p.m. The production is professionally directed and suitable for elementary students through adults. The free, downloadable activity book is intended as a tool to introduce young readers to local plants, flora and fauna. It is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese.<\/p>\n
