The holiday is marked by family, colorful performances, fireworks and cultural traditions.<\/p>\n<p>From parades to marketplaces and art exhibitions, here&#8217;s a list of scheduled events to celebrate the Lunar New Year in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n<p>Did we miss any events? If you want us to add an event to this list, please email us at newstips@nbcbayarea.com.<\/p>\n<p>Time and Date: Parade begins at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday,\u00a0March 7<\/p>\n<p>Address:\u00a0The parade starts at Second and Market streets, goes around Union Square and ends at Kearny Street and Columbus Avenue in San Francisco. The parade route will cover approximately 1.3 miles and is free to watch. You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/chineseparade.com\/tickets\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.eventeny.com\/events\/2025chineseparade-14414\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">purchase tickets for bleacher seats.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The iconic San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade returns to the heart of San Francisco, an annual event that has been going on since the 1860s. Also enjoy a special performance by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/frankiefictitious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Frankie Fictitious<\/a>. Also watch the Chung Ngai Dance Troupe perform throughout the Exploratorium&#8217;s galleries. The event will feature live performances, family-friendly storytelling, hands-on activities, local food from AAPI chefs and ways to support AAPI artisans. This includes a performance from Oakland native seiji oda who will perform on the Garden Stage.
