However, unsigned or anonymous letters will not be reviewed.

The CSU is seeking feedback on Wood in several areas:

Management of staff, financial and physical resources relating to hiring and managing a sufficient and diverse team,
Wood’s relations with the system and campus involving open communication, consideration of staff suggestions and upholding CSU standards,
Educational leadership and effectiveness, where the CSU is seeking evidence of Wood’s maintenance of long-range plans that promote an environment that supports “teaching, learning, scholarship [and] professional development,”
Community relations, which is classified as support for the campus through positive relations with the media, community and alumni,
Major achievements of the president,
Personal characteristics, which section covers generally the president’s ability to lead, plan and organize campus operations satisfactorily,

Students are welcome to submit comments relating to the requested areas, as well as any personal opinions they may have, but are encouraged to keep feedback constructive. The CSU said the review process is a growth opportunity for Wood and the university, not punitive.

Kayla Gaspar, a fourth-year biomedical sciences major and a member of Sigma Omicron Pi, did not know about the review but supported Wood due to his public support for Greek Life on campus, even before his move to Sac State. He has been criticized for a potential $18 million investment to bring Sac State football into Football Bowl Subdivision while other academic programs suffer from funding cuts.

All Sac State community members have the opportunity to voice concerns about university spending, the freshmen housing requirement and funding decreases.

“I just hope that whatever he’s doing in office does something to improve student life instead of making it harder for us,” Wright said.

The feedback process will likely take about six months for evaluation, according to past reviews of CSU presidents. During this process, the CSU Board of Trustees will work with the Chancellor to review comments about Wood.

Based on the review of another CSU president, CSU trustees, vice chancellors and other university presidents will interview Wood and write a report with their findings from his answers and community feedback. The Office of the Chancellor will prepare their own report before sharing all of the information with Wood in a closed session.

Presidents across the CSU system, including Wood, may be offered increased pay rates based on review performance.
