STOCKTON, Calif. — Despite straight set singles wins from Nick Bowles<\/a> (No. 4) and Sebastian Vlahos<\/a> (No. 6), it was not enough in the Hornets’ 5-2 road loss at Pacific on Sunday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.<\/p>\n In a match that was closer than the final score indicated, the Hornets dropped to 3-4 on the young season. Of those seven matches, six have come on the road. Pacific improved to 4-3 with the victory, and 2-1 at home.<\/p>\n Playing with a singles lineup that consisted of one junior, three sophomores and two freshmen, Sacramento State wasn’t far off winning this match. In fact, the Hornets lost matches at both Nos. 2 and 3 singles in the third set via 6-4 scores. Doni Gashi<\/a>, who had a 3-0 lead in the third, eventually fell in his match, and Freddie Healey<\/a>, up 2-0 in the third, also fell.<\/p>\n
