WAUWATOSA, Wisc. (CNN Newsource\/WISN\/WKRC) – Police captured a 27-year-old man after police say he stole a squad car and led officers on a series of incidents that began with a domestic violence call at a Motel 6.<\/p>\n

Wauwatosa police said they arrested Giontae Dixon after taking him into custody on Feb. 3. <\/p>\n

Body camera footage obtained from police showed the alleged crime spree that started at the Motel 6 near 13th Street and College Avenue, where officers were called to a domestic violence scene just before 4 a.m.<\/p>\n

The victim was not identified, but she told officers Dixon choked her. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe put his hands on me. He thinks he is Jesus. He’s got very bad mental issues that are not diagnosed,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n

Officers found Dixon in a white minivan nearby and questioned him, but he did not give officers his real name. When an officer asked, \u201cWhat’s your first name?\u201d Dixon responded, \u201cJesus. Jesus. Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police said officers repeatedly told Dixon to step out of the van during the exchange. <\/p>\n

\u201cI need a yes or no,\u201d an officer said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI’m Jesus; I don’t know what you’re talking about,” said Dixon.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou understand English. We’ve been talking this whole time, and I’m telling you to step out of the car. Step out of the car,” said an officer.<\/p>\n

Police said Dixon eventually drove off, leading officers on a chase that was later ended. A police report said the chase was ended because there were no violent crimes, the pursuit put \u201cthe society at large\u201d in danger, and the officer involved was the only supervisor working that evening.<\/p>\n

Later that morning, police said Dixon tried to steal a TV from Walmart, which prompted a second chase. Video then showed officers once again turning off their lights and terminating the pursuit. Brown Deer police had not responded to questions asking why the chase was ended.<\/p>\n

Hours later, Wauwatosa police said a man matching Dixon\u2019s description caused a disturbance at Mayfair Mall and again fled police in the white van.<\/p>\n

Officers pinned him in, but police said Dixon jumped out of the van and into a running police car, hitting multiple officers as he drove off.
