The current system is strengthening as it moves northward toward the Central Coast, bringing some bursts of heavy rain and increasingly gusty winds to the region through into Monday afternoon as it shifts eastward.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udce1[Radar Update] 7:05 AM &#8211; Widespread rain blankets the region mainly from the Bay Area southward.  Rainfall intensity has been moderate to locally heavy.  If you&#8217;re traveling this morning be heads up for slick roads and local ponding on roadways.  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/cawx?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#cawx<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kE1lKByb0T\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">pic.twitter.com\/kE1lKByb0T<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NWS Bay Area \ud83c\udf09 (@NWSBayArea) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSBayArea\/status\/2023413867137978459?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 16, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Weather Service said the combination of spring tides and storm surge will bring minor high tide flooding to the San Francisco Bay and Monterey Bay areas. <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=MTR&amp;wwa=coastal%20flood%20advisory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">A coastal flood advisory<\/a> was in effect Monday morning through 3 p.m. Tuesday, and residents can expect to see flooding in lots, parks and roads, along with some isolated road closures.<\/p>\n<p>KPIX First Alert Weather:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kpix.com\/weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Current conditions, alerts, maps for your area<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Weather Service <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=MTR&amp;wwa=wind%20advisory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">issued a wind advisory<\/a> from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday for the Southern Monterey Bay, interior Central Coast, and the Big Sur Coast. For boaters, <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=PZZ545&amp;warncounty=marine&amp;firewxzone=&amp;local_place1=19NM%20SSW%20San%20Francisco%20CA&amp;product1=Small+Craft+Advisory&amp;lat=37.5059&amp;lon=-122.6262\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a small craft advisory was issued<\/a> for coastal waters from Point Reyes to Pigeon Point until 9 p.m. Monday, along with <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=PZZ545&amp;warncounty=marine&amp;firewxzone=&amp;local_place1=19NM%20SSW%20San%20Francisco%20CA&amp;product1=Gale+Warning&amp;lat=37.5059&amp;lon=-122.6262\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a gale warning<\/a> from 9 p.m. Monday to 3 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>In the San Francisco Bay Area, the day will be characterized by intermittent downpours and shifting winds, along with a slight chance of thunderstorms as the atmosphere becomes more unstable, forecasters said. Further south, conditions are expected to be more intense in the Monterey Bay and Central Coast areas.<\/p>\n<p>Residents were urged to exercise extreme caution on the roads and apply the golden rule when encountering a flooded roadway: &#8220;Turn around, don&#8217;t drown.&#8221; It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road. <\/p>\n<p>Further east, <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/wwamap\/wwatxtget.php?cwa=MTR&amp;wwa=winter%20weather%20advisory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a winter weather advisory<\/a>\u00a0was active through Wednesday for the Central Coast mountains, indicating accumulating snow of 5 to 10 inches for elevations above 3,000 feet, with the highest peaks seeing up to 18 inches of snow. In the Sierra Nevada and western foothills, <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=CAZ069&amp;warncounty=CAC017&amp;firewxzone=CAZ269&amp;local_place1=17%20Miles%20E%20Placerville%20CA&amp;product1=Winter+Storm+Warning&amp;lat=38.6872&amp;lon=-120.491\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a winter storm warning was issued<\/a>\u00a0from 10 p.m. Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday, with heavy snow expected &#8211; up to a foot from 1,500 to 2,500 feet, 1 to 2 feet at 2,500 to 3,500 feet, and 4 to 8 feet of snow at higher elevations.
