Winter storms have brought chain controls and road closures to roads throughout the Sierra.<\/p>\n

I-80 is closed at the California state line until Hirschdale Road, where chain controls take effect until just north of Baxter.<\/p>\n

A section of Highway 89 is closed as well in the area around Emerald Bay, with chain controls in place north of that closure.<\/p>\n

Chain controls are also in place on Mount Rose Highway, U.S. 50, Kingsbury Grade, and on I-580 through Washoe Valley.<\/p>\n

There is also a high wind advisory through Washoe Valley, with vehicles over nine feet prohibited.<\/p>\n

Chain controls are also in effect on State Route 267 and State Route 88.<\/p>\n
