EMERYVILLE, CA \u2014 A vehicle that got stuck on the railroad tracks in Emeryville was impacted by a Union Pacific train and caught fire early Saturday, shutting down rail service for hours, police said.<\/p>\n
Emergency services responded to the collision about 1:10 a.m. after the woman driver accidentally turned onto the tracks and became immobilized, police said.<\/p>\n
The driver escaped before an oncoming train crashed into the vehicle, setting it on fire, police said.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Union Pacific Railroad didn’t immediately respond to an email requesting comment after regular business hours on Saturday.<\/p>\n
“The railway was temporarily shut down for several hours to allow for emergency response, fire suppression, vehicle removal, and a full inspection of the tracks,” police said.<\/p>\n
