A man was shot during a traffic stop in Sacramento County Monday evening. Deputies were not injured, and the man was taken to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n

SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 The Sacramento County Sheriff\u2019s Office says a man was shot and taken to a hospital during a traffic stop Monday night.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff\u2019s office<\/a>, deputies were on patrol when they spotted a vehicle connected to an ongoing felony investigation near Elk Grove Floring Road and Tiogawoods Drive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Deputies conducted a traffic stop around 7:30 p.m. During the stop, two deputies fired their weapons, hitting the driver.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the driver, an adult man who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was hit by gunfire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Deputies immediately began providing medical aid before he was taken to a local hospital. His condition has not been released.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office said a firearm belonging to the driver<\/a> was found at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators have not yet determined whether the man fired the weapon or how many shots were fired during the incident. Both deputies involved were not injured.<\/p>\n

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.<\/p>\n
