Jon was so much more than a firefighter, he was a devoted husband, father, and proud ‘Papa’ whose world revolved around his family,” the GoFundMe page organized by Cory Strickland said in the description.

Miner, who worked for Oakland County’s Springfield Township Fire Department for 30 years leaves behind a wife and family.

“He gave his heart, his time, and his strength to others, always the first to lend a hand and the last to walk away when someone needed help. His presence, sense of humor, and genuine care made him one of a kind,” according to the description on a GoFundMe account set up for this family.

The GoFundMe account for Miner had raised more than $13,000 as of Tuesday morning, Oct. 21, with the beneficiary listed as Deena Miner.
