It was a swell day for this guy, despite the stormy weather. <\/p>\n

A SoCal surfer took advantage of Monday\u2019s deluge, using his board to shred the flood waters of a Long Beach street while being towed by a pickup, wild video shows. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wanna get outside and surf. I told my brother, I said \u2018Dude, put that truck in first gear, let\u2019s go,\u2019\u201d Hayden De Leon told NBC 4.<\/a><\/p>\n

De Leon said he wore a helmet through some of the \u201csketchier parts of the surf\u201d but that the \u201cwaves were good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWeather was nice, waves were good,\u201d he quipped. \u201cNo bumps or bruises.\u201d <\/p>\n

Following the ride, De Leon joked that \u201cstreet surfing should be a winter Olympic sport.\u201d <\/p>\n

De Leon is no stranger to extreme sports, he told KTLA<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a blast,\u201d he said. \u201cI grew up wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding\u2026 so this just fit right into the abundance of fun you can have out here in Southern California.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s flooding overwhelmed Los Angeles \u2014 halting traffic, stalling food delivery bots, and even stranding Waymos.<\/a><\/p>\n
