SANTA CLARA, Calif. \u2014 Wednesday’s Santa Clara University baseball game versus crosstown rival San Jose State will now be played at the Broncos’ Stephen Schott Stadium at 3 p.m. due to inclement weather in the area.

\nThe Spartans (2-1) play their home games at Excite Ballpark, home of the San Jose Giants, the Single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The stadium’s natural grass surface can be damaged by wet weather, so when rain hits, the Spartans often must relocate. The Broncos installed a new turf playing surface in 2023, providing greater flexibility in adverse weather conditions.
