{"id":182402,"date":"2026-02-18T03:20:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T03:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/182402\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T03:20:11","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T03:20:11","slug":"bakersfield-man-gets-5-years-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/182402\/","title":{"rendered":"Bakersfield man gets 5 years in prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">(FOX40.COM) \u2014 A Bakersfield man has been sentenced to five years for manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing 50 pounds of dynamite \u2014 explosives he kept hidden in an underground cave.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Matthew Henry Jacober, 44, was sentenced for being a felon in possession of explosives and for manufacturing crystal methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of California announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Authorities said Jacober had 50 pounds of dynamite hidden underground, about 10 to 15 feet from his travel trailer, in July 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Jacober was convicted in 2021 of making a destructive device without a permit \u2014 a felony \u2014 preventing him from possessing explosives in the future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Jacober was also found to be in the process of manufacturing crystalline methamphetamine in his trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He pleaded guilty in November 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
