Police are investigating an assault that reportedly happened on the night of Valentine’s Day at Santana Row.<\/p>\n
A man said he was badly beaten by a group of people who asked him if he was affiliated with a gang.<\/p>\n
The victim spoke to NBC Bay Area on Tuesday and said he was leaving Vbar inside Hotel Valencia when a group of people followed him out.<\/p>\n
“I remember being on the floor, not fighting back,” said the victim, who wanted to remain anonymous.<\/p>\n
The man said his girlfriend tried to intervene, but someone hit her and she fell to the ground.<\/p>\n
Both the man and his girlfriend were transported to a hospital.<\/p>\n
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
