Aaron Riekenberg has resigned as boys basketball coach at La Habra, a position he held for nine seasons.<\/p>\n
Riekenberg said he resigned to create more time for his family.<\/p>\n
He coached the Highlanders to the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA championship in the 2023-24 season. Riekenberg\u2019s teams won three league championships.<\/p>\n
Riekenberg was the Orange County boys basketball coach of the year for the 2023-24 season. He also was a Fullerton Union High School District teacher of the year that school year.<\/p>\n
He was the Buena Park coach for one season before taking the La Habra coaching job. Riekenberg\u2019s 10-season record is 203-79. Riekenberg was an assistant coach at Buena Park before being promoted to head coach.<\/p>\n
Riekenberg\u2019s wife Shelley is a counselor at Los Alamitos High School. Their children are 7 and 5 years old.<\/p>\n
