SOUTH SACRAMENTO, CA \u2014 A man was injured when he was repeatedly shot at by Sacramento County sheriff\u2019s deputies on Monday, according to authorities, who noted the man had a gun that was found at the scene.<\/p>\n
Deputies saw a vehicle suspected to have been involved in a shooting the previous day driving southbound in South Sacramento and stopped it around 7:30 p.m. near Tiogawoods Drive and Elk Grove Florin Road, \u201cwhen an officer involved shooting occurred,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said in a news release.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth deputies fired their weapons, for a total of five rounds,\u201d the news release said. \u201cThe suspect, an adult male, was struck by gunfire an unknown number of times. Both deputies were uninjured.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man was taken to a hospital where he remained on Tuesday evening, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect\u2019s handgun was located at the scene,\u201d the news release said.<\/p>\n
